Indonesia's sustainable development goals in relation to curbing and monitoring the illegal wildlife trade

Collaborative Research of Study Centers with Oxford Brookes Dr. Tristiana Sukmadewi, Head of the Center for Climate Change, has produced a scientific journal publication titled “Indonesia's sustainable development goals in relation to curbing and monitoring the illegal wildlife trade” in the internationally indexed journal Sustainable Development, SCOPUS Q1.

The research focuses on Sustainable Development topics, including ending the trade in protected species and addressing the demand and supply of illegal wildlife, such as civets. Civets are traded as exotic pets and for the production of civet coffee.

This trade is illegal and contradicts Indonesia's commitment as part of the SDGs to curb this trade. However, the trade has remained stable over time (in terms of quantity, species, and price).
